Ben Patterson was born in the suburbs of Mesa, Arizona and is currently residing & working as a full time artist in Portland, Oregon.

Ben Patterson's work focuses on bizarre birdhouses and graffiti animals occupying a variety of surreal scenery. Patterson pulls from his own personal travels as well as the various natural elements and environments that surround them. His paintings reflect the relationship between the natural occurring world and the manipulated urban landscape. His subjects, mainly animals or birds, are the evolution of the two contradictory states. Patterson's unique vagueness and imaginative representations emphasize the importance of adaptation and change while still holding onto one's true self.

“Look to the streets, to the walls and the alleyways to see how we are doing - Don't look to the news, the television, or even our 'elected' officials for the truth.”
